Is art more eternal than anything else?

i've been thinking about this quote " nothing is as eternal as portey and song" - jim morrison. I kind of think its true, besides what we learn in school art is what we remember most from the past such as the monalisa the illiod and the odyssey, shakespears writings, walt whitmans poetry. stuff like that. not their clothes and stuff. We can usually relate to it even though we're many generations ahead. what do you think?
