Anyone know of an old animated pegasus/unicorn movie?

I remember watching it when I was little so it probably came out in the 80's would be my guess. It wasn't Unico or The Last Unicorn. I remember part of a battle in a castle but the main creature is a tough little guy and the graphics are really simple but I remember the colors and music were almost techno/synthesizer (if that makes sense, not sure how else to describe it). I'm almost positive it was a small pegasus not a unicorn and I wanna say it was black in color rather then white. I know I rented it enough times that my parents got annoyed, so it's not a figment of my imagination. Anyone got any ideas?
