What is your opinion on 3D technology NOW? PLEASE ANSWER!?

It all started at the movies, one of the first studios to use digital 3D was Walt Disney Pictures. In promoting their first CGI animated film Chicken Little, they trademarked the phrase Disney Digital 3-D and teamed up with RealD in order to present the film in 3D in the United States. Almost immediately after, almost all movies were released and are continuing to be released in Digital 3D. Then 3DTVs were the next big trend, many people all over the world now own a 3D HD TV, BluRay is now releasing many more digital 3D movies, and satellite and cable providers are starting to release 24hr 3D channels. Now we are seeing revolutionary 3D technology that requires no glasses, such as Nintendo3Ds. It is rumored the iPhone and iPod Touch 5 are going to be released using the same type of 3D technology. Sprint has released the HTC Evo 3D. And 3D phones are soon going to be released for AT&T and Verizon. So my question is, do you think companies are pushing the 3D technology too far? Or is this the way the technological world should be heading? And why? Thanks for your opinion!!((:
